Is Cannabis legal in Minnesota?
With legalization of THC in Minnesota, what happens to the state’s medical marijuana program? An expected increase in patients of the medical marijuana program in three weeks when edibles first become available might be blunted by the surprise July 1 legalization of hemp-based edibles in the state.
Although marijuana-derived THC is still illegal in Minnesota, THC derived from hemp is chemically the same. Marijuana and hemp come from the same cannabis plant, though the plants are bred differently, with marijuana plants high in THC and hemp plants very low in THC.
After an amendment passed unanimously during a Minnesota legislative session in May, state Sen. Abeler jokingly said: "That doesn't legalize marijuana — we just didn't do that, did we?"
When Abeler proceeded to laugh, Rep. Tina Liebling, a Democrat from Rochester, said, "Oh, are you kidding? Of course you have. No, just kidding. Next, we'll do that next, OK?"

Cannabis Loans in Minnesota
Minnesota banks are highly unlikely to lend money to cannabis businesses. While cannabis is on its way to becoming legal in Minnesota, it is still classified as a Schedule 1 controlled substance and remains federally illegal. Because of this, most banks and credit card companies won't work with you in any capacity. This means obtaining a loan for your business through your bank won't be possible.
This is where FundCanna can help. We only lend money to cannabis businesses. It's all we do.
